Councillors Laura Flynn, Ron Conway and Chris Ready were delighted to visit Haigh Hall this week to see diggers hit the ground at Haigh Hall.

It comes after the councillors worked together with local residents, Wigan Council and creative directors Al and Al on a consultation to shape the future of the hall.

The funding on the Haigh Hall and Wildlife Park project is made up of A National Lottery Heritage Fund grant of £3.78million, a much-needed £20million Levelling Up funding from the government and Wigan Council match funding pledge of £11million.

Chris said: “A massive thanks to residents and volunteers who have supported us on this exciting project. After the success of the levelling-up bid, works on the exterior of the building begins. It’s been a long road but great to see work on the go.”
