Two of Wigan CLP’s councillors ran the Run Wigan Festival 5k in aid of Joining Jack.

Cllr Lawrence Hunt from Wigan Central ward and Cllr Chris Ready from Aspull, New Springs and Whelley Ward, both completed the route and enjoyed the fun-filled day.

Lawrence, who is the council’s Lead Member for Heritage and Building Conservation, raised funds for Daffodil’s Dreams, a local charity helping children and families in need.

And Chris, Portfolio Holder for Communities and Neighbourhoods, ran with a Wigan Council team for the Mayor’s Charity and Wigan and Leigh Hospice.

Both thanked the organisers and their sponsors, for helping to boost local charities and getting everyone out training in the run-up!
